Hello! My name is Bill, and I am currently a Junior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign studying Statistics & Computer Science, while pursuing minors in Linguistics and Mathematics. My primary interests in the vast field of Computer Science include Artificial Intelligence, Statistical Computing, Data Analysis, Software Engineering, Natural Language Processing, and Algorithm Design (especially if it's part of Competitive Coding). On the non-academic end, I love photography (currently using a Canon Rebel 100), I love to cook, I play badminton, and like to draw pixel art.

  • Revamped 10 outdated testing suites with C# and the .NET Core framework to validate the accuracy of loan forecasts and their attributes generated through econometric machine learning models
  • Generated and validated cashflows of different mortgage deal types by running over 30,000 data points from economic data sources per deal through cashflow calculators, and utilized PLINQ library’s parallelization to increase the speed of generation
  • Built sets of testing data through SQL database queries from Microsoft Azure Data Studio and utilized Newtonsoft to read and deserialize JSON files for model input and expected output

Reddit COVID-19 Misinformation Classifier

  • Developed a machine learning program with Sci-kit Learn and Pandas that could determine if a Reddit post contained COVID-19 Misinformation, used in a research study on how misinformation transmits through the internet
  • Implemented the program using Bag Of Words method and Tfidf-transformers to preprocess data, and a Support Vector Machine model to classify posts
  • Achieved a strong 82% accuracy rate
